1. Ephemeral stencils: birdseeds

Confronting the notion of ephemeral stencils to the semantic field of tattoos. Tattoos understood as the contrary of temporary messages in both their form and their message, with words and promises such as Love, Forever, Always.
Using the word Always for its double-meaning of repetition and eternity.
    Ephemeral stencil made with birdseeds.

We walked in the snow for a couple of miles this morning and discussed about making a gigantic typeface in the park… someone has been faster!

Might be easier to make it in the mountain – anyone up for it? and then take a picture from the opposite mountain!

  4. nice process: 31 fonts in 31 days

    Type by Fwis

    type-fwis

A man named Chris Papasadero tries to design a typeface every day for 31 days straight.

    * i like the integrity required by setting up such process; and i really like the take on typeface design
** it reminds me of Martino’s 100 chairs in 100 days.

  5. Embroideries & Typography

posted earlier on None this afternoon; my sister and I made an experiment with her embroidery machine plugged on an old pc and printed the Futura Domus typeface. It works quite nicely… check the picture below; the typeface: Futura Domus has been released on Fontnest a few weeks ago after being featured in Domus back in september 2008.

  6. ‘A book shut …’ posters arrived!

    * Amandine’s recent typographic experiment turned into a A1 poster just arrived. She is really happy – they arrived a little bit late for the opening of the exhibition but quite magically the posters will be sold in a couple of bookshops (list to follow soon) and also on SuperMarketo.

** thanks Jak to pointing us to the printer

  9. Nefertiti – thin egyptienne

Nefertiti – thin Egyptienne (Workshop n°0: Fontes à 40 mains)
the format to handle to the group is vector based, so EPS or SVG is the best i assume
the only parameter fixed is the x-height: 20cm
we all know it will be a thin, with square terminations (egyptienne is part of Thibeaudau classification in france * or is it up for interpretation as well? you decide!), and it would be named after nefertiti…
the rest is up for interpretation: highs, lows, top/bottom proportion, general shape, termination size/proportion, precise weight

    DEADLINE: 9th of December.

Here are the glyphs; I reduced the amount to the caps and lower case, plus integer and few ponctuation signs.
